Saving your photos to a flash drive is a great way to create a physical backup or free up space on your iPhone. Using iCloud makes the process simple and secure when you follow these steps.

Step 1: Back Up Your iPhone Photos to iCloud

On your iPhone, make sure your photos are syncing to iCloud:

Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud
Turn Photos On
Tap iCloud Backup
Tap Back Up Now

Wait for the backup to complete before moving on to the next step.

Step 2: Sign In to iCloud on a Computer

On a computer, open a web browser and go to iCloud.com, then sign in using the same Apple ID that’s on your iPhone. Once logged in, click Photos to view your synced images.

Step 3: Plug In Your Flash Drive

Insert your flash drive into the computer and make sure it appears as an available storage device.

Step 4: Download Photos to the Flash Drive

Highlight the photos you want to save, then drag and drop them to your desired location on the computer or directly onto the flash drive. Allow the transfer to finish before safely removing the drive.
